Palo Mulato is a group dedicated to preserving and promoting the tradition of Son Jarocho, the lively music of Veracruz’s Sotavento region. Comprised of Iván Fernández Farías, Paco Sandria, and Omar Hernández “Chan Chan,” their music combines the power of traditional singing, the vibrant sound of jaranas, and the collective energy of fandango, bringing the spirit of southern Veracruz to every stage where they perform. Their music flourishes from the deep roots of the Veracruz countryside, with a style that honors tradition but also dialogues with the present day.

Through sones, décimas, and zapateado, Palo Mulato seeks not only to entertain but also to share the history, feelings, and identity of Veracruz, inviting communities to experience the fandango: a space for gathering, music, and celebration.

My cuisine stems from my family heritage and a deep connection to my Mexican roots. I learned to cook by watching my grandmother Otilia, who was a traditional cook and midwife in Morelos, Mexico. For more than 10 years, I led my own gastronomic project in Brussels: El Taco Mobil, a food truck specializing in authentic Mexican cuisine. There, I cooked for hundreds of events, bringing homemade and traditional flavors to European audiences with a fresh, accessible, and respectful approach to ingredients.My culinary style is based on respect for ancestral processes, such as the nixtamalization of corn, and on creating...
