What is Week-end Gaga Dancers ?
Join the fascinating world of Gaga with Chen-Wei Lee, an award-winning dancer and choreographer, in a class that promises to transform your understanding of movement. With her experience in the Batsheva Dance Company and collaborations with renowned figures such as Ohad Naharin, Chen-Wei guides you through an exploration of the Gaga language, where every movement is a discovery, and every sensation is a journey. Gaga/dancers deepens dancers’ awareness of physical sensations, expands their palette of available movement options, enhances their ability to modulate their energy and engage their explosive power, and enriches their movement quality with a wide range of textures. The classes are built on the same principles as Gaga/people classes but also employ the specific vocabulary and skills that are part and parcel of a dancer’s knowledge.

Gaga is a contemporary dance style developed by Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin. It is characterized by organic, fluid movements, emphasizing freedom of movement, internal sensation and emotional connection. Dancers explore a range of physical sensations and use verbal instructions to stimulate creativity and improvisation.
Dancers, performers and people involved in bodywork who wish to enrich their palette of bodily expression, improve their improvisational skills and connect with their imagination.
Gaga/dancers enables dancers to deepen their awareness of physical sensations, broaden their palette of available movement options, improve their ability to modulate their energy and engage their explosive power, and enrich the quality of their movement with a wide range of textures. Classes are built on the same principles as Gaga/person classes, but also use the specific vocabulary and skills that are integral to a dancer's knowledge.
Participants can expect to become more aware of their bodies and improve their ability to express themselves through movement. The workshop also aims to awaken curiosity about new forms of physical expression.
Classes will address aspects such as connecting to body sensations, emotional expression through movement, and exploring new ways of moving that challenge habits and conventions.
Lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes each, the classes are led by Wei Wei. They provide an immersive experience where participants are guided through a series of structured exercises and bodily explorations.
Be a professional or semi-professional dancer, or have experience in physical practices.
