Discover the profound artistry of Bharatanatyam at Forest Lighthouse in Brussels. Join us for an mesmerising performance with one of the greatest Bharatanatyam Dancers of India, Bragha Bessell. Delve into the world of dance, mythology and emotions, with a special focus on the revered sentiment of Sringara – love.

Bharatanatyam, one of the classical Indian dance forms, offers a rich tapestry of emotions. In this performance, we unravel the intricate connections between Sringara and the other eight fundamental emotions. Bharata Bessel invites us on a journey of emotional exploration to present the intricate play of feelings and gestural expression.

This is a unique chance to witness Indian dance and this ancient art formed performed by a uniquely skilled and complete artist.

Bragha Bessell started her learning at a very young age with Guru Late Sri. Mangudi Durairaj Iyer and she took further training under Guru Chidambaram.P.S. Kunjithapadam Pillai. She then pursued her learning under Padma Shri. Sri. Adyar K. Lakshman and learnt the nuances of Abhinaya from Padma Bhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan. Bragha has had the fortune to be a part of many productions of her Gurus. Her Nritta as well as Abhinaya earned wide appreciation from students, teachers and connoisseurs.  Bragha has given numerous performances in India and overseas. She has danced in many major cities and Sabhas and took part in their main festivals.  She visited many countries to give performances and workshops. (European countries, America, Canada, Australia, Middle Eastern countries, Singapore, Sri Lanka to name a few.) She has worked as a visiting faculty in Kalakshetra, teaching Abhinaya for over 15 years.  She is regularly invited by colleges and universities all over the country to conduct Abhinaya workshops.   Bragha's workshops and lecture demonstrations are a regular feature in major cities in Asia, America and Europe.  She is invited by many leading and established Festivals namely, Milap Fest - UK, Cleveland Aradhana, Dance India Asia Pacific, IPAC Singapore and IPAC Australia. Bragha is a graded artist of Doordarshan Kendra. She has also danced for Japan, Belgium and German Television companies.
