My encounter with the Feldenkrais® Method changed my life in every possible way. After my first encounter with the method, I felt so free in my body in a way that I had never experienced before. I quickly saw the enormous potential of introducing this method into my dance. So I decided to take a year off from professional dance to immerse myself in the Feldenkrais Method. I left my dance company, packed my suitcase and travelled around Australia and India with an old tape recorder full of recordings of Feldenkrais classes. I practised everywhere, day and night, in quiet places, in cities, in parks, in nature, everywhere – practising Feldenkrais and looking for a concrete bridge between Feldenkrais and my dance. Over time, through much experimentation, the practice of FATHOM HIGH began to emerge. By the end of the year, this research had profoundly changed the way I move and perceive my body. Since then, I’ve been devoting my time to developing FATHOM HIGH. I use it to constantly develop my abilities as a dancer, and as a basis for my choreographic work. But most of all – I use it to feel happy and fulfilled in my body in movement. In 2015, I completed my Feldenkrais studies and became a certified Feldenkrais teacher.
