About
This project offers a choral space that integrates bodywork and conscious breathing from the Feldenkrais method into the learning process of collective polyphonic singing. It is an invitation to explore the voice through the body, breath, and listening, while recognizing the expressive, sensitive, and collective potential of group singing.

Adults of all ages, with or without singing or musical experience, interested in exploring the voice from a holistic perspective.
The voice is the result of a complex but deeply natural bodily process: the air we breathe in is transformed into sound as it passes through the vocal cords, located in the larynx, which vibrate as the air passes through. This sound is then amplified and modified in the resonance cavities (mouth, nose, chest, skull) and shaped by the tongue, lips, and palate. This entire system is closely linked to breathing, posture, muscle tone, and a person's emotional state. That is why working on body awareness and breath control—as proposed by the Feldenkrais Method—allows us to release tension, refine our internal perception, and discover a freer, fuller, and more expressive voice. In this workshop, we approach the voice as an extension of the body and listening, rather than as a technical or separate instrument.
- Develop a deep awareness of the body and breathing as the basis for vocal work.
- Explore breath control as a bridge between breathing, speaking, and singing.
- Study the relationship between the body, sound, and movement in a group setting.
- Learn songs in three- or four-part polyphony, both intuitively and with accessible vocal technique tools.
- Introduce the concept of polyphony into vocal preparation as well: how to inhabit multiple layers of sound in listening and vocal expression.
- Encourage play, mutual listening, and the joy of group singing as a lively, non-competitive, and transformative practice.
- (Optional): If a stable group forms, it may be possible to organize a showcase or open concert at the end of the process to share what has been experienced and offer a collective conclusion to the journey.
Body awareness through voice work, conscious breathing, discovery of collective polyphonic singing.
Each session will be divided into two complementary parts:
Body and breathing work with a Feldenkrais specialist: this part will address breathing support and control, the relationship between movement and vocal timbre, and the release of tensions that prevent fluid and connected sound production.
Choral work: vocal exercises focused on breath awareness, shared vocal production, and the construction of collective textures. Canon games, echoes, and small melodic cells will be integrated from the beginning to familiarize participants with polyphony through vocal preparation. Later, a repertoire of three- or four-part songs will be learned.
