Start the Year with Intention

This year’s Open House isn’t just a warm welcome — it marks the beginning of a rich and diverse programme for the year ahead. Whether you’re new to movement or already familiar with somatic practices, it’s the perfect moment to explore what’s possible, ask your questions, and meet the team.

Throughout the day, you’ll be able to speak with our team about everything we’re offering in 2025–26, including:

  • Regular Classes — This is the moment to begin a consistent practice: move better, move smarter.
  • Polyphonic Choir with Maria — Develop listening, breath, and presence through collective harmony.
  • Dance with Paola Madrid — An embodied exploration of rhythm, movement, and expression.
  • Singing Workshops with Sussuma — Voice as a somatic practice: freeing sound, breath, and inner space.
  • Sports & Feldenkrais with Choune — For athletes and movers: performance through awareness, not effort.
  • Bones for Life® — Posture, walking, and vitality through rhythmic, weight-bearing sequences.
  • Children’s Theatre with Betzabel — Creative expression and development through storytelling and play.
  • Individual Sessions — For pain relief, post-injury recovery, pregnancy support, nervous system regulation, and developmental guidance.
  • Professional Feldenkrais Training — A four-year pathway to becoming a certified practitioner.

Who is teaching ?

Betzabel Falfan

Betzabel Falfan

Betzabel Falfan, co-founder of the Forest Lighthouse Center, hails from Mexico. She leads weekly Awareness Through Movement classes and offers individual Functional Integration sessions. Trained as an actress and dancer, she dedicated her academic research to the study of classical Indian dance, specializing particularly in the Indian classical dance form 'Sattriya' from 2010 to 2013. Her diverse and extensive training includes drama studies at Cours Florent and the Municipal Conservatory Gustave Charpentier in Paris. She furthered her research and practice in Bharatanatyam and Sattriya dance in India, supported by grants from 'Paris jeunes talents' and ICCR. Certified in the Feldenkrais...
Eve Kolinski

Eve Kolinski

Eve is a dancer, Feldenkrais practitioner, and administrator. Trained in Paris and then Berlin in contemporary and jazz dance and improvisation techniques, she is passionate about the sensory and anatomical aspects of movement. She will be certified as a Feldenkrais Method practitioner in 2022. At Forest Lighthouse, Eve helps organize and coordinate various events, training sessions, and regular classes.

Juan Martinez

Juan comes from Colombia. He arrived in Europe in 2000 and settled in Brussels in 2002, where he held several odd jobs and studied at university before seriously committing himself to the world of theatre. He graduated from the Conservatoire de Mons in 2007 and is now an actor and director with the Théâtre des Chardons theatre company. It is through theatre that he became interested in the body, its intelligence, and its ability to learn and develop in space. Nikos Appelqvist

Nikos Appelqvist

As a Feldenkrais practitioner and co-founder of the Forest Lighthouse Center in Brussels, he has been certified in the Feldenkrais Method® since 2020, following his training in Cantal 1, France. His involvement extends beyond co-founding the center; he also co-organizes professional Feldenkrais training programs in Brussels, actively participating in the establishment of the Brussels 1, 2, and 3 training series while guiding students throughout their four-year journey. His linguistic proficiency has allowed him to translate these programs, providing an opportunity to enrich his experience alongside internationally renowned trainers. Tara Appriou

Tara Appriou

Tara is a certified Pilates teacher (Balanced Body method) and a practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method (Brussels I), with an initial background in contemporary dance. Her journey has led her to teach in various countries, enriching her approach with multicultural sensitivity and a deep attunement to the moving body. Through her classes, she guides each person with precision and gentleness, fostering body awareness, fluidity, and lasting well-being.
