As a Vaishnavi monk, he received training in Sattriya dance and music and became an artistic master at the age of sixteen. He completed a Ph.D. at the Rabindra Bharati University in West Bengal, focusing on academic research into Sattriya Dance and has contributed to the establishment of the Assamese institute in Delhi. He has taught and performed, on his own and with his group of monks, at the "Musée Quai Branly" in France, the "British Museum" in London, "Symphony Space" in New York, and "Brown University" in the USA, among others.
